Nikon ZR: RED colour science in a small, affordable body

At IBC this month Nikon unveiled the ZR, the first true cinema camera born from its acquisition of RED — a combination the whole industry has been waiting for.

The camera inherits the heart of the Z6 III but adds what no body this size has offered: 6K 60fps internal 12-bit RAW via the new R3D NE codec, 32-bit float audio recorded in-camera, and a class-leading 4-inch touch display.

At the same show Nikon announced it is entering the cinema lens business — a clear signal the company is building a complete production ecosystem, not just one camera.
